Step-by-step setup
Install TiViMate
Android TV and Google TV have it in the Play Store. On a Firestick it has to be sideloaded with Downloader. There is no build for Apple, Samsung or LG, and anything in those stores with a similar name is a different app entirely, so use IPTV Smarters on that hardware.
Add a playlist
Open it, choose Add playlist, then Xtream Codes login. Enter the server address, username and password from your Tivo8k message and press Next. It will not ask for an M3U link and does not need one.
Name the playlist and load
Give it a name you will recognise if you ever add a second, then let the channels and guide download. It asks which categories to bring in; whatever you pick here can be changed later, so do not deliberate over it.
Set up the guide
Under Settings, TV guide, set the refresh to every 12 hours. The guide source travels with the Xtream login, so unlike some players there is no separate EPG URL to paste in anywhere.
Optional: activate Premium
Premium is bought through the separate TiViMate Companion app on a phone, not inside TiViMate itself, which trips up nearly everybody. It runs about $9.99 a year or a one-off lifetime licence in the mid-thirties, with a seven-day trial, and unlocks recording, multi-view and multiple playlists.
Common errors and fixes
TiViMate says "playlist could not be loaded"
Check the server address carries its port, and that the plan is still active. Then retype the password by hand rather than pasting, because copied text from a chat frequently drags an invisible space along with it.
Guide shows "no information"
Force a refresh from Settings, TV guide, Update now, then restart the app. A first load on a large channel list can also simply need more time than people give it.
